CHARITY DAY APRIL 2024

On Thursday April 11, it is our Monthly Charity Day where we donate 15% of the value of each book sold in the shop and online to a charity or organisation that we love to support. This Charity Day, we will be donating to the Ngaanyajarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women’s Council , an organisation governed and directed by Aboriginal women across 26 desert communities covering 350,000 square kms in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

The NPY Women’s Council is a leader in the provision of human services in the NPY region. The Council operates many projects, including Ngangkari (Traditional Healthers), Tjanpi Desert Weavers, The Child and Family Wellbeing Service, Youth Service, Tjungu (Aged and Disability Service) and Domestic and Family Violence Service. The NPY Council believes in the strength of our people, our culture, and the collective agency of women. We are continually guided by our values, to deliver on our purpose and ensure we deliver for and to our community, more and better choices; a good life for all Anangu.

Last Charity Day, in March, with your support, we were able to donate to Black Rainbow, whose programs enhance quality of life and community togetherness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTIQA+SB people.
