CHARITY DAY APRIL 2025

Thursday April 10th will be our Monthly Charity Day where we donate 15% of the value of each book sold in the shop and online to a charity or organisation that we love to support. This Charity Day, we will be donating to UNICEF'S Myanmar Earthquakes Emergency Appeal.

Before the deadly earthquakes hit, the situation for millions of children in Myanmar was already dire. UNICEF are on the ground, delivering lifesaving supplies, including clean water, health kits, medical supplies, tents, and hygiene kits such as soap, sanitary pads, and disinfectants, for children and families in desperate need. The earthquake and aftershocks have caused widespread destruction across Myanmar, impacting the Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, Bago, and Shan regions. Homes, schools, hospitals, and essential infrastructure have been severely damaged, leaving entire communities cut off due to landslides and collapsed roads. Many are now without electricity or mobile connectivity, compounding the challenges they face. Even in the face of an escalating crisis in Myanmar, UNICEF continues to deliver for every child, no matter what.  

Last Charity Day in March with your support we were able to donate to Medecins sans Frontieres' Emergency: Israel-Gaza Appeal who remain committed to working around the clock to provide care to people in Gaza. MSF teams have been providing surgical support, wound care, physiotherapy, maternity and paediatric care, primary healthcare, vaccinations, and mental health services. Humanitarian needs have mounted to catastrophic levels; meeting even a fraction of these needs will only be possible through a rapid and massive scale-up of global humanitarian aid.
