Matilda Bookshop is committed to supporting local writers through our consignment program.  If you are interested in having your work on consignment with us, please review the following guidelines below.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the heavy volume of submissions we receive, the review process may take several weeks. We will notify you of our decision via email. The decision made by our buyers is final.


OUR CONSIGNMENT GUIDELINES

  • We have a blackout period from November 15th to January 15th, during which time we are unable to review or accept any new consignments.

  • We will only accept books published with a printed and bound spine and displaying an International Standard Book Number (ISBN). We do not accept unsolicited proofs or finished copies, and will not be able to hold onto them for you if they are left with us.

  • All consignment requests must be made via email. A one-paragraph email including your contact information, the ISBN and pricing of your title, jacket cover, and brief description/blurb should be sent to Molly at books@matildabookshop.com.au

  • Our priority is consigning with authors based in our immediate community of the Adelaide Hills. See suburbs: Aldgate, Balhannah, Birdwood, Bridgewater, Brukunga, Charleston, Crafers, Crafers West, Dawsley, Echunga, Flaxley, Gumeracha, Hahndorf, Harrogate, Heathfield, Lenswood, Littlehampton, , Lobethal, Longwood, Mount Barker, Mount Lofty, Mount Torrens, Mylor, Nairne, Oakbank, Piccadilly, Stirling, Summertown, Upper Sturt, Uraidla, Verdun and Woodside.

  • Our terms are 60/40 (we take a 40% discount).

  • We allow consignment titles a three-month run on the shelf after which time we may ask you to collect your unsold books.

  • We are unable to provide feedback or critique of your work.
